3^rd International Conference on Acoustics and Vibration

It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the 3rd International Conference on Acoustics and Vibration (ISAV2013). K. N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU) and the Iranian Society of Acoustics and Vibration (ISAV) have worked diligently in the hope of providing you with a program that would motivate and enhance your knowledge of acoustics and vibration. ISAV2013 has chosen a format to encourage participation of different academic, industrial, and governmental sectors who are somehow involved with the development and application of acoustics and vibration. The program features a keynote speech, contributed oral and poster presentations, technical workshops, a specialized exhibition, and student competitions. Student competitions include selection of the best student theses as well as competition between student teams to make the best sound barrier. The organization of a conference like this is a considerable task that would not be possible without the help of a large number of individuals and organizations. I would like to thank all those who helped us in one way or another to make this event a unique and memorable experience. At the end, I would like to honor the memory of a good friend and a great teacher, Professor M. H. Kargarnovin, who unexpectedly passed away in November 2013. Professor Kargarnovin was a member of ISAV2013 scientific committee who helped us greatly in the review of papers. May God bless his soul.

Dear colleagues
On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of Iranian Society of Acoustics and Vibration (ISAV), I would like to extend my warm welcome to all participants of the 3rd International Conference of Acoustics and Vibration (ISAV2013), hold on 25-26 December 2013 in Tehran, Iran.
After holding two successful conferences ISAV2011 and ISAV2012, we are delighted to host you at third conference, which will be held in collaboration with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, K.N. Toosi University.
We are very pleased that in the third conference, in addition to the major activities such as papers presentation, workshops, exhibition, keynote speech and best dissertation/thesis selection, First Student Scientific Competition in the field of acoustics and vibration will be held.With your participation, I believe ISAV2013 would contribute greatly to scientific achievements on sound and vibration. Your presence at ISAV2013 is thus most valued and I am sure that you will consider your attendance as a most interesting experience.

I would like to thank all members of organizing committee, advisory and scientific committees, session chairs, reviewers, authors and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Department of K.N. Toosi University for their valuable efforts and active participation. They all worked hard to bring high quality technical program. Also, I greatly appreciate government and industry sponsors for their generous support. Dear representatives of trade organizations and companies in the conference acknowledged. I extend my thanks to the ISAV2013 secretariat and students, for their excellent administrative management. Finally, I would like to honor the memory of good colleague, the late Professor Mohammad Hossein Kargarnovin. Professor Kargarnovin was one of an active and committed associate member of ISAV. May Allah bless his soul.
